Shay Spam

Here is the second polish from the Touch Collection, Shay:

Zoya Shay

This is the one I was expecting to like the most, and I do like it.  It is supposed to be complimentary to warm skin tones, whereas Minka was supposed to be good with olive or neutral skin tones.  I can't say I like it better than Minka, but I don't like it less either.

I'm sure you can't tell just by looking at the photo how it is different from Minka, but in real life it is pinker and definitely warmer.  After I put it on, I kept looking at it trying to figure out what food it reminded me of!  I finally came up with it: the nougatty inside of a Three Musketeers bar!  And then, of course, I really wanted one!

I think after I try the third polish, I'll do a swatch with one color on each finger for a good comparison.  I'm hoping my little camera will be able to pick up the differences.  But for today, I shot this one against different colored backgrounds. These three pictures were all taken in front of the same window, one after the other:

This one is closest to the real-life color of the polish.

Wow, I look like a zombie!  Interesting, because I
always thought I look good in red!

Meh . . .

The background really makes a difference!!

Here it is in front of a different window, the one where I usually take my pictures (in my knitting chair):

I think if you click on that last one you'll be able to see the shrinkage I got. Grrrrrrrrrr.

  1. That is really instructive how different it looks with different backgrounds. You can really see how warm it is against the gray. I've been looking at pics of Pandora and think it's really attractive too. Gosh, I might have to end up getting them like you did to see what looks best!
