Laundry

I love to do laundry.  Doing laundry involves a lot of wait time.  I like to pass that time knitting.  It's the perfect combination of activities.  I get to accomplish something, and at the same time play hooky.  I've felt this way for as long as I can remember.  A day spent doing laundry means a day spent knitting.  Doesn't get much better than that.

Here's what I did today while waiting for the first load to dry:

Swatch

This is a swatch for Chicago.  I've loved this design and wanted to knit it for a long time.  I thought it would look great in yellow.  Problem is, now that I've knitted the swatch, I find I really don't care for the fabric.

I was intending to knit this without the beading.  For the first 4",  I did the yarn-over pattern without the slipped stitch where the bead would have been.  Pretty characterless.  And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get an even tension.  So I decided to add in the slipped stitch after all, minus the bead.  It looks slightly better, but I'm just not in love.   And since I am in love with the yarn and the color, I want to make a sweater I will love too.

Oh . . .  did you hear that?  I think I heard the sound of a frog . . .
