I'm at the point of knitting the (separate) front bands on my pink sweater, but it means a lot of measuring and sewing up as I go along. I got a little bored with it, but I wanted to "save" my Winnie sweater for the trip. So yesterday morning I cast on for Ava:
This will be an excellent project for those times when I need something truly mindless and rote: 32 rows of rib, then stockinette straight up to the armhole with no shaping.
There are two versions of this sweater in Rowan 51: Ava features a knit collar, while the collar of St. Raphael is crochet. I'm not yet sure which I prefer!
What? this post mentions THREE sweaters as WIPs
ReplyDeleteGirl, I'm in awe.
Must agree that much stockinette is what they call zombie knitting.

must re-cast on Intagliata
Also known as ADD! I used to always have 2 or 3 sweaters going at the same time, but lately I've only been doing one at a time. Not really sure why either!
DeleteI am finally past my boring knitting on my cardi, at least for now, but I did cast on a little scarf over the weekend. I think it helps to have a few projects going at once, that way you can pick up one according to your mood. Can't wait to see how yours turns out.
ReplyDeleteI totally pick up certain projects based on my mood! My mom doesn't understand this - she has always knit one project at a time. Different strokes for different folks!
DeleteYou're not the only one who starts multiple projects! I have three muslins lying around but in this case exchange "bored" for "frig, what do I do about the fit here? Ummm...let's start a new project"
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your projects! :)
Hehehe - been there, Jo!
DeleteHaha, I do the exact same thing! "Uhhh... here's a problem that I don't have the energy to solve. Abort mission!"
DeleteLooks like a nice basic pattern. That's a tough call on the lace collar, I like them both!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll end up having to swatch them both to decide!
DeleteI love your new knits. I just may have to knit that Winnie also, I have the yarn for it too!
ReplyDeleteAny time I knit anything with stripes, I seem to be able to finish it faster, because I always think, "Just one more stripe, then I'll put it down." And before you know it, the sweater's done!
DeleteThere's a lot to be said for no shaping and mainly stockinette!! Lovely color, too.
ReplyDeletePerfect for watching Netflix ;-)
DeleteThis will be so cute! Very springy and fun!
