Amended

A couple hours after putting on Minka, I started to work on my second Ginger skirt, which meant a lot of ironing and cutting out of fabric.  Which meant a scuffed-up mani.  So I fixed it with this:

Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air

This is two coats of Glitter in the Air (GitA) over Minka, topped with CND Speedey. I bought this a month or so ago, but haven't worn it yet, other than just trying out a coat to see the glitter.

I am fascinated with this polish.  I resisted it for a long time, but eventually caved. I think $18 is a ridiculous amount to pay for a bottle of polish, but in this case, I think it's worth it.  It is so unique.  You can't see the milky, pale blue base here because of the opaque nude underneath, but it gives it an ethereal quality.  The larger, hexagonal glitter pieces look like they are concave, and yet once the top coat is applied, the nail feels relatively smooth, which is important to me.  I love the look of glitter, but often the texture puts me off.

I'm looking forward to trying this one on its own.  I've seen some lovely swatches out there with four coats of GitA and nothing else:  dreamy.

  1. I think GitA was meant to be your signature polish! ;-)

  3. You may be partial to 'nudes' but these are just as wonderful as any 'bright' polish.

Not certain if I could go for the larger glitter - as compared to the glitter I tried.

I've been going, well not 'nude' but I've been bare for the past week.

    Oh, what color next???? Hmmmm

  4. Yes, that glitter was REALLY hard to get off!!

I keep thinking I should go bare for a while, but then I can't bear it!!
