Feast or Famine

It's a little weird that I've been posting every day for the last several days, after posting only intermittently for a few months.   What can I say?  My blogging philosophy is that if I don't feel like posting, I don't!  It's a hobby - I try not to get stressed out about it!

I stamped my nails for the first time in a long while the other night, and I liked it so much I decided to share.  I really like this "tribal print" motif on Bundle Monster plate 315 - I've been seeing a lot of fabrics with a similar look lately.  My base polish is Misa Great Grape from the summer 2013 "Fresh and Fruity" collection.  This is the same polish I was wearing in the video I posted a few days ago.  On top of that I stamped with Essie No More Film, a very deep blue-violet from last summer's resort collection.  It's dark, but less stark than black would be and so pigmented that it's great for stamping.

I love this stamp!  I think it would look fantastic over a gradient nail - kind of like all the ikat fabrics that are all over the place lately!

  1. Ooh, that's pretty. I love the tone-on-tone.

I never did tell you about the experience I had when I got the plates I ordered, but it didn't work for me at *all* -- I took off the protective film and tried it using several tutorials but could not make it work, even using the just-for-stamping polish. I'm pretty sure it was the plates (Cheeky 2012), but I'm not positive; a lot of other people seem to have had good results with them. Anyway, I returned them and need to get some others to try again. I always love how yours look and really want to make it work!! In the meantime, I'm having a blast with all my new Zoyas from Earth Day... ;)

    1. What a bummer! I've never tried the Cheeky plates but I was thinking about getting some, so I think I'll avoid them based on your experience. I've only used the original Konad ones (quite expensive at about $7 each) and the Bundle Monster ones. I have sets 1, 2 and 3 of Bundle Monster; set one has very small images, but I LOVE sets 2 and 3, and they're very economical at about $1 per plate.

I skipped Earth Day this year!

    2. You know, from reading reviews it sounds like some people just get lemon plates that don't have deep enough indentations or something, maybe that's what happened! I just ordered a Bundle Monster set... It didn't say 1, 2, or 3 but just 2012 Collection, so hopefully it's not the tiny ones. :) This time if it doesn't work, we might need to have a FaceTime date again!! :)

Nice discipline on skipping the sale... I went a little insane this year. I'm currently wearing Storm, which is quite different from the bright colors I usually gravitate towards, but it's gorgeous.

    3. You should be good with that set. I took a look and that's what I've been calling set 3, since all the plate numbers are in the 300's. (301, 302, etc.)

I'm trying to be really selective in my polish buying now, because it seems like I have almost ever color under the sun!
