As Promised

Going back to the second sequin top I made.  As it turns out, the pictures from NYE were truly horrific - the lighting at my friend's house wasn't any better than it is at mine!  So I donned the outfit again the other day while I was taking the photos of my third (and for now, final) sequin top.

Not much to say about this that I didn't say in the construction post!  So here are a slew of pictures of me wearing the top.

I discovered that those sequins in the hem really like to get hung up on my pants, so the thing pretty much never lays flat.  For the first few pictures, I wore the top with the jeans and flats I had on, and I don't think it looks bad that way!

But here is how I wore it on NYE - with black wool ankle pants and gold heels.

Let's take a closer look at those shoes, shall we?  Kirsty B, I'm sure you recognize these - I became completely obsessed with them after seeing them on you, and finally tracked them down at a great sale price!

And because I'm in a generous mood today, I leave you with this silly pose:

  1. What a great NYE outfit. I didn't get a single photo of mine, but I'll be blogging about it in the future.

LOVE the shoes! I'm very sad that I just don't seem to be able to wear high heels any more, unless they are wedges.

    1. Thanks, Sam! I'm out of practice with the heels too - I don't have much call for them these days! But I was able to manage being on my feet for about an hour before I had to sit, so for me that means these are pretty comfy as far as heels go.

  3. It looks good with jeans, but it really shines with the black pants! Such a great party outfit - you're put together but look so comfortable too.

    1. Thanks, Kelly! Don't let the stills deceive you though: I wasn't too comfy. The sequins scratched the insides of my arms. I don't know any way around that, as sequins typically have sharpish edges.

  8. You look very glam for NYE - I'm ashamed of myself that I didn't bother this year at all but instead was in bed by half 10...!

    1. Believe me, this is not a common occurrence! I'd generally prefer to be tucked up in bed too! But once I made the commitment, I had to have something great to wear!

  14. Gail your NYE outfit was glam all the way. You really nailed it, lady! You know I can't wear hills, nor gold, but now I have thoughts of silver flats dancing in my head. In connection with Sara's comment above, you're a celeb among the TO bloggers :)

    1. Thanks, Mela! You know what's not fun though? Picking up sequins from strange places in my house for weeks! I even found some that don't match any of my projects! Whaaaa?
