Meandering Vines

After not working on it for quite a while, a couple weeks ago I got out my Meandering Vines stole out again.  I'm not always in the mood to work on it because it does take a certain amount of concentration as well as good lighting.  But this is another item I'm hoping to finish up so that I can wear it this fall.

It's about 40" long now.  I'm planning on just knitting until I run out of yarn.  Of course, I've been steaming the lace open as I go:

Such a lovely motif.  It's pretty easy to memorize, but I do have to pay attention, and because the yarn is SO fine and so medium-colored, I really have to watch each stitch.  If I drop one, it's a bear to pick it back up!

This yarn is so lovely - 2-ply lace weight 100% lambswool.  It's very springy, which makes it a joy to knit with.

Sorry about the kooky spacing of the pictures on this post.  Sometimes Firefox and Blogger don't play well together, and since I'm still not on my own computer, I don't feel like fiddling around enough to fix it!

  1. I'm amazed that you can just pick up this project after not knitting it for a while. The yarn looks yummy and the lace motif is stunning. Photos look fine, by the way!

    1. Well, to be fair - I do have a copy of the chart right in the bag where this lives!

  2. Wow, that is some fine detailing, it must take a lot of patience! All that hard work will pay off though and it will look beautiful!

    1. The pattern is pretty easy, but it's definitely something you have to keep our eyes on. No Netflix knitting here!

  3. So beautiful!! What kind of yarn is that? I have a skein of Malabrigo lace that I want to use, but knitting such a small gauge is rather daunting for me...

    1. This is Jade Sapphire Lacey Lamb. It's quite a bit thinner than the Malabrigo Lace. I usually use a #4 needle with the Malabrigo, and I knit very loosely, so it's not like you always have to use tiny needles for these things!

  7. Egads! I love Lacey Lamb, but I echo your sentiment, you have to pay attention to projects you make with it. Yours is a beautiful color, it's looking fab now, but I know it will look even better once finished and blocked.
