Now I wish I had it back! ;-)

When we've made butter from heavy cream, the residue left over is like what was originally called buttermilk (not the cultured stuff), and I did use it in a buttermilk recipe. I'm not sure if it tasted the same as cultured buttermilk from the store, but I still liked it. We use both heavy cream and butter all the time, so no waste! (It does lead to more *waist* though.)

Hope you have a great anniversary!soknitpickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16168262237286825852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5942397277086320916.post-13728597174406415132011-06-21T20:48:19.575-05:002011-06-21T20:48:19.575-05:00I've done those tricks too, but I really prefe...I've done those tricks too, but I really prefer the taste of buttermilk. I do like to eat it on granola. I've been known to mix milk and yogurt or to sour some whole milk with lemon juice...K.Linehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15350615302797686048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5942397277086320916.post-20215046973513605802011-06-21T09:01:22.260-05:002011-06-21T09:01:22.260-05:00Thanks, Andrea!
